Virtual Vinyl Tablecloths

Don’t let this Valentine’s Day slip away without buying one or several new, beautiful  vinyl tablecloth for your special evening.  Just picture it – you’ve searched for perfect recipes, selected from your husband’s favorite foods, you’ve bought the wine, and perhaps are even going to venture out into baking!   You made your appointment with the hairdresser months ago, and you’ve shopped for your new outfit for months, and you’re all prepared except with one important item – you overlooked the table setting!  Did this happen to you before?  What is worse than that old, overused tablecloth that’s seen better days?  Everyone’s talking about the television show, “Hoarders,” and if you haven’t tossed that old thing out yet, perhaps you should take a lesson from that show!

Have I convinced you?  Well, if you are ready to accept this, let’s get down to business.  The first thing that you want to consider is color coordination.  The texture and pattern can wait a bit.  Let’s just take inventory.  What color is your new outfit?  Even if it’s red and you have decided to buy a new red vinyl tablecloth, don’t be so hasty.  Make sure the two reds don’t clash, but complement each other. Neither do you want the table to be too distracting, so be sure to select a simple, but elegant design or pattern.  Keep in mind that elegant does not necessarily mean boring or old-fashionedSecondly, let’s consider the type of meal and what time of day you will be serving your sweetheart.  Are you going to eat inside or out?  The décor of your dining area is another factor when selecting vinyl tablecloths.  If you are going to be dining during the day and outside, then your selection will probably be different from what you would choose for indoor, evening dining. You should also take into account the type of cuisine that you will be serving.  Polka dots or a busy pattern would probably not be the best choice for serving a gourmet meal.

One more thing before you start shopping and muddle your brain with all of the thousands of vinyl tablecloths online, consider the basics.  What is the style and color is of your table setting?  Make sure that your tablecloth selection compliments your dining accessories.  If your flatware is traditional, then select a more traditional style vinyl tablecloth.  One more thing – don’t forget the centerpiece!
